About the filmmaker

Meet Kevin

I’m Kevin Maher, an Edmonton-based wedding videographer creating emotionally grounded wedding films for couples who care deeply about story, family, and the people sharing the day with them.

With over 9 years of experience filming weddings throughout Alberta and beyond, my documentary-style approach is calm, observant, and intentional. I’m there to guide when needed, step back when the moment needs room, and preserve the parts of your wedding that will only become more meaningful with time.

By the time your wedding day arrives, I want the experience to feel easy and familiar — like you’re being filmed by someone who understands what matters to you, not just someone showing up with cameras.

Kevin made the whole experience fun and comfortable, offering great tips leading up to the wedding day and the day of.

I’ve had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember.

Growing up, my family couldn’t afford a camcorder, so I became the unofficial family photographer instead — usually with a disposable camera in my hands. I photographed everything: the people around me, the ordinary moments, the pieces of life I didn’t want to forget.

Looking back, that instinct to preserve real moments is still at the centre of my work today. The tools have changed, but the heart of it has stayed the same.

That same instinct now shapes both my wedding films and the select photography sessions I offer for couples, engagements, and families.

I’ve always had a soft spot for honest, vulnerable stories — the kind that reveal who people are and what they mean to the ones they love.

Outside of weddings, life is centred around my wife, Jessica, and our two rescue pups, Charlie and Bolt. They keep me grounded, remind me what matters, and are a big part of why I value family, presence, and the ordinary moments that become meaningful over time.

Charlie was also the inspiration behind the name of my former company, Wagging Tail Studios — a small piece of my story that will always mean a lot to me.

What I love most about this work is that wedding films become more valuable with time.

The voices, the glances, the speeches, the people gathered in one place — these are the pieces of a wedding day that can’t be recreated. My role is to preserve them with care, honesty, and a sense of restraint, so your film feels true now and even more meaningful years from now.

My work is rooted in emotional storytelling, family connection, and a calm documentary approach that lets the day feel honest.

Whether you’re planning a wedding in Edmonton, Calgary, elsewhere in Alberta, the Rocky Mountains, or beyond, I’d love to hear what you’re creating.
